How Canadian Police Handle Suspects

May 27th, 2008

This video is the perfect reminder why I love Canada.  You can skip to 4:45 when the police “…are on scene now…”. :)

South Africa It Is

May 9th, 2008

I only noticed this article because someone from S.F. happened to link to it and since there are so many of you there who are most likely considering buying a home in the near future you should see what you could get if you were living elsewhere.  We could totally live in South Africa. :)

There And Back Again

May 9th, 2008

D.G. is home…and sleeping. :) The girls decided they would “sleep” at the airport the night before their flight and ended up not being able to sleep and I don’t think D.G. slept during the flight home so she was completely exhausted when she got here. She managed to stay awake until 9:00pm but she crashed about 30 minutes into Charlie Wilson’s War which I am going to go finish watching. :)

ISS Aerodynamics

May 8th, 2008

I love Japanese people. :)  Astronaut Takao Doi thought it would be interesting to see if a boomerang worked on the International Space Station the same way it worked on Earth.  You can watch the experiment (in Japanese) at Japan Probe.

Things Are Getting So Hexic (2)

May 8th, 2008

I am totally addicted to Hexic 2.  I don’t remember downloading it before but I was going through the Xbox 360 and realized that I had supposedly downloaded some games from the Live Arcade.  I thought I would give the Xbox 360 a chance to be something besides a flashy DVD player and Hexic 2 is the perfect way to do that in all its high definition jewel destroying bliss.  When did it get dark outside…  Yes.  It is that good. ;)

Dream of a Death Star

May 4th, 2008

I need want a R2-D2 Projector.  I am only considering this because of all of the space we would save in our living room with a small mobile R2-D2 being able to project DVDs on the wall, ceiling, or the building across the street. ;)  It only costs $2995, which I will admit is a little expensive for a projector but did I mention it comes with a Millenium Falcon remote.  I would easily trade 10yrs of Christmas presents. :)

Broken

May 4th, 2008

I don’t know what the heck is going on this weekend but I have managed to break off a quarter of my back tooth and either dislocate or fracture my index finger. :(  I will have to go to get an x-ray done tomorrow and typing is practically impossible.  I don’t know if there will be anything left of me by the time D.G gets back on Friday. ;)

Just For Now

May 2nd, 2008

I thought I posted a link to Imogen doing a live performance of Just For Now.  I just remembered.  Anyways, it is without question the most incredible a capella performance ever.  I thought she was quite an impressive artist before I watched this video but afterwards you realize she is on a completely different level.

Flying Dutchman

May 2nd, 2008

I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of Tori Amos but these kids are remarkable (especially the kid at 2:12 doing his Stevie Wonder).  They are the perfect example of why music programs shouldn’t be dropped from schools.  I totally went through the whole music program when I was younger and piano lessons.  I think I might get D.G. to teach me to play since I haven’t touched a keyboard in a lifetime.  Actually, it was probably right about the same time I started getting into computers.  Maybe I could have become the next Ryuichi Sakomoto.
