I thought I posted a link to Imogen doing a live performance of Just For Now. I just remembered. Anyways, it is without question the most incredible a capella performance ever. I thought she was quite an impressive artist before I watched this video but afterwards you realize she is on a completely different level.
I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of Tori Amos but these kids are remarkable (especially the kid at 2:12 doing his Stevie Wonder). They are the perfect example of why music programs shouldn’t be dropped from schools. I totally went through the whole music program when I was younger and piano lessons. I think I might get D.G. to teach me to play since I haven’t touched a keyboard in a lifetime. Actually, it was probably right about the same time I started getting into computers. Maybe I could have become the next Ryuichi Sakomoto.
My Machinae Supremacy CD (Redeemer) arrived today. I actually don’t remember the last time I *bought* a CD, but I was listening to the three tracks they made available off their website endlessly so I thought I should show my support. I think I want to move somewhere with a ‘å’ included in the name. I suppose ‘Cånådå’ could work.

I am not usually one to post lyrics (a la myspace emo types) but I recently discovered Jack’s Mannequin while watching O.C. or something similar I think. Anyways, with tracks like “I’m Ready” and “The Lights and Buzz”, JM is easily addictive. You should check their latest.
CMJ.com reports, “Though no official, Corgan-sanctioned announcement has been made, news is trickling in from different sources confirming that Smashing Pumpkins are indeed reuniting this spring.” I am attempting to not get too excited at the possibility of a reunion but it is almost impossible considering the plethora of media outlets who are covering the story. It appears that Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin have signed but there is no word on James Iha or Darcy Wretzky. Melissa Auf Der Maur (former bassist) is being quoted in almost every article, I imagine she is just as enthusiastic about it happening as the rest of the planet. You can read the entire article here.
